Suncreek Youth Jr. High Mission Trip To North Little Rock and Perryville, Arkansas

We will be taking a very exciting junior high mission trip to the Central Arkansas area to be the hands and feet of the lord. We will begin our trip by attending our 8:15 service at Suncreek UMC together and get blessed for the week ahead. Following the service we will board 15 passenger vans for our 5 to 6 hour trip to the North Little Rock area. While in Arkansas we will be working with many local charitable organizations such as the Arkansas Rice Depot, Ozark Mission Project, Heifer International and other worthy causes.

We will be staying at the Lakewood UMC in North Little Rock, AR on the nights of January 22, 23 and 24. We will work hard by day but will have fun at night by hitting local restuarants, local attractions and do not be surprised if the old Suncreek tradition of taking in a local Minor League Baseball game is used once again. Our time in Little Rock will be rewarding.

We will leave North Little Rock and drive 45 miles to Perryville, AR on the 25th of July. From Noon on the 25th to Noon on the 26th we will participate in the Heifer International Global Gateway program. This program will delve into the worldwide problem of an inequal distribution of food and the trouble this causes. Our youth and adult chaperones will spend the night in a replica of a housing dwelling from different areas of the world such as Guatemala, Kenya, Applachia, Zambia, a Refugee Camp and others. They will be given what is available in those countries in order to cook a meal for the evening and breakfast in the morning. All countries are not created equal and those who stay in the Refugee camp have nothing and can not speak a language that anyone else in the global village can understand. Will be a great experience for all. We will return home on the 27th of July and should be back in Allen around 5:00pm

Open to youth who have completed 6th grade through those who have completed 8th grade by July 2012

Cost :$275

Please pay a deposit of $125 by March 15, 2012

Please pay the remainder of the balance by May 15, 2012

*NOTE*Results of the Youth Auction and Dinner on April 14 could lower the total cost depending on money raised and youth participation

Sr. high helpers will not be chosen until a later date so if you are older than 9th grade please do not sign up for this trip, just send me a text or e-mail expressing your interest.
